Spanish Footsteps has been created to provide unique, culturally rich small group walking tours in the Soria Province of Spain. Drawing on our years of experience and the resources at our disposal we strive to provide you with the best holiday adventure in a professional & fun manner. Whilst on holiday we want you to move less and see more, that’s why on our small group journeys, you will travel less distance and have time to take in your surrounds.
Spanish Footsteps is owned and operated by us, Alfredo and Louise. We are the hosts throughout your walking tour, this is what makes Spanish Footsteps different. We genuinely want you to have the ultimate experience. The best way to experience Soria is slowly and that is why each day has been designed so you are never on a long bus journey. Our unique small group walks are taken at a gentle pace, around 2 -3 hours of leisurely walking a day. Our journeys are tailored for people of all ages who enjoy leisure walking surrounded by nature, history and culture, in the company of like minded travellers.
We specialize in Soria, our home in Spain and we are looking forward to exploring it with you on one of our unique journeys.
Alfredo Astorgano
Alfredo was born and raised in Bath, England to immigrant Spanish parents and he has had a connection with Spain and Soria since the 1970’s. He travelled to Soria on numerous occasions to spend time with his mothers family and vividly remembers the customs and traditions of village life as well as the stories told by his grandparents. It was these trips to Soria which gave Alfredo a real love for travel and led to a career as a freelance Tour Director.
Based in Australia, Alfredo became a member of the ’Institute of Australian Tour Guides’ and worked for several prestigious companies managing tours throughout Australia, Asia and Europe and was formally acknowledged for his contributions and dedication. Over the years he has enjoyed the company of countless travellers and has shared with them his passion for travel, history and culture. A passion that has sent him on various personal journeys around the globe including, hiking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu in South America, touring the west coast of North America, New Zealand and South East Asia.
Spanish Footsteps is the result of Alfredo’s ambition, to combine his extensive experience and knowledge in tourism and a desire to promote ‘The Real Spain’ to those searching for a relaxing rural holiday away from the masses, in the company of nature, history and culture.
Louise Astorgano
Louise was born and raised in the south island of New Zealand. Upon being introduced to the Soria Province by Alfredo, Louise fell in love with the area and was inspired to put the skills and knowledge she acquired working as a Project Manager towards creating Spanish Footsteps. Her attention to detail, organisation and problem solving skills along with a desire to share her knowledge of Soria and love of its local cuisine will ensure Spanish Footsteps delivers the type of holiday that you deserve.
